Great Taste, Convenient and Full of Sugar!!
We all know that Pop-Tarts aren’t the most nutritious food around but you can’t beat the taste or the convenience. These are great for those hectic mornings before school and even for a late night snack before bed.

Tasty!
Crust is a little bland but the middle is great! I wish it were in stock more often.

Great backup for the pantry
Sometimes a Pop-Tart is just what you need, right? Well, we like the frosted brown sugar cinnamon the best, and with the subscribe & save feature from Amazon we can have these as backup snacks/emergency breakfasts in the pantry. Very good value, too!

Did not like taste
The product arrived as described, but neither I nor my children found it to be to our liking.

I’ve personally found when it comes to any kind of gluten free bread you by far get the best results doing something home made.

gluten free hamburger buns
This product is wonderful if you can’t eat gluten. It must be popped into the microwave for 30 seconds to freshen it up.

This deserves a 4-star rating!
But I give it 5 stars to upgrade the previous rating so people won’t be discouraged from ordering them. I agree totally with the content of the other review, though. To be able to eat a hamburger again is wonderful! Other products crumble and don’t contain leakage. These buns hold up very well with a juicy hamburger with all the trimmings. Room temperature storage until package opening is a real plus. The buns do need microwaving for 20 seconds or so to be edibly soft so they probably wouldn’t work for a cold sandwich. The flavor is the same as my memory of wheat buns.

I can eat a hamburger again!
After almost three years of avoiding any type of hamburger bun due to celiac disease, I was really thrilled to be able to eat a real hamburger on a bun! I wrapped it in a moist paper towel and nuked it for 15 seconds and it softened up enough to compare favorably with a normal hamburger bun. The fact that they can be stored without refrigeration until opened for a long period of time is a big plus! I have not tried toasting one yet as I would have to use the family toaster-oven to do it and do not want to take a chance on contamination with real bread crumbs, etc. I would recommend this product to any one.

Packaging is not the same as pictured
I work for Heinz and bought this as a funny item to add to a gift bag for a co-worker; however, the packaging pictured here is not the same as what I received. Pictured here, the name stands out and has a funny impact; the cans I received were slightly re-worded so the phrase “spotted dick” was lost in the middle of the phrase “Taste of Home Delightful Spotted Dick Pudding” with all words having the same size and style of font. It’s almost as if they deliberately wanted to remove the perhaps unintentional shock value the original packaging had. Sadly, that’s why I purchased it!

Funny Novelty
I got this from our friends in the UK. We passed it around as a conversation piece with great hilarity. Finally opened it up after 6 months. It is quite good..a little bland..but warm it up in the microwave and it tastes better. Its a mix of crumbly cake and raisins. We don’t take it seriously enough for the quaility of the contents only for the funny name.

I’d recommend Heinz sticky toffee pudding way over this. when you dump out the sticky toffee pudding on a plate, the sauce covers the top and sides like a creme caramel pudding. Nuke it in the microwave and we put it in the middle of the table and we all dig right in with vanilla ice cream on the side. YUMM-O !

Pretty good for GF hotdog buns!
GF hotdog buns are tough, but these are actually pretty good. Just got a pack today and made a turkey sandwich out of one. Microwave it for like 10 seconds before eating it, though. They work well although I do like the Ener G Seattle hot dog buns better.

Pretty good hot dog buns
I have not been able to find a bun that was edible until I tried these. They are much better after being warmed in a microwave for about 25 seconds. I like the fact they do not require refrigeration until after opening. I wrap unused buns individually in plastic wrap and place in zip lock bag and refrigerate or freeze.

Awesome, and do your homework.
These buns are spectacular, and I feel sorry for anyone who just rips the package open, slaps a hot dog in, and takes a bite. To be edible, they *must* be heated in the microwave until they’re hot to the touch. Be careful not to burn yourself, but if you don’t heat them enough, they’re very dry and unsatisfying.

It can also help to get a tiny bit of moisture into the microwave with them. I usually heat mine on a plate I’ve splashed with a tiny bit of water. Or sometimes I’ll try flicking just a bit of water onto the buns themselves before heating (you can easily overdo it).

Done properly, they’re awfully close to the real thing. Which is an amazing treat if you can’t have gluten.

Disapointing
Terrible, strong taste. Too thick and crumbly. Taste overpowers whatever you eat on it..I was hoping for a good product. Miss eating hot dogs on bun.

As close as I’ve found….
Although I’m not a big fan of Ener-G products overall, their hot dog buns are as close as I’ve found to regular wheat buns. Like most gluten-free items they need a little heating first to improve texture: I microwave them in a damp paper towel for about 35 seconds before eating, but they hold a hot dog/brat with condiments without either breaking apart in the middle or crumbling. And, they have a neutral flavor which does not detract from the meat.

Good Tasting Treat
I first tried these hot and they were just two sweet for me and did not taste like a hot fudge sundae to me. And the texture was unpleasant and the filling leaks out. Warm they tasted OK. Now when tried cold them out of the freezer as was suggested in the other review, they were great. I could have done without the sprinkles, but other than that a very good treat.

They are by far the best flavor. They really do taste like a hot fudge sundae.

chilled is good
I would highly recommend chilling this in the freezer first. It is a great cold treat that won’t melt if you don’t eat it fast enough.

Gluten Free ain’t so bad
We have a child who is gluten, dairy, and soy intolerent. The tapioca loaf is something he really enjoys (although he’s never known what “regular” bread is like.) I’m glad to have found it available through Amazon.com since it was always hit-and-miss locating it in regular stores; so few carry this label and/or variety and often in those that did, it was sold out. And Amazon’s price definitely beats the store price, especially when shipping is free.

Ener-G Tapioca Loaf
I buy this bread for my 4 yr old son who has PKU. He needs to be on a very restrictive low protein diet. All of his foods are very expensive including this bread, however, purchasing it from Amazon saves me about 1/3 from purchasing it directly from Ener-G Foods. The only bad thing I can say about this bread is that it crumbles easily but that is just because of the ingredients used in making it low pro.

I recommend this bread. For those who need this, it’s 32mg of PHE per slice.

Good alternative
My daughter, who just turned 13, loves this bread (she has a wheat allergy). She heats it in microwave for 10 seconds and puts butter on it. She eats it every day. I also cannot eat wheat and I like it better toasted. Good alternative to the real thing…but you will find nothing is just like the gluten version!

very best bread
this is the only gluten free store bought bread we like..has a pretty good shelf life due to good pkg. and holds together well to make grilled cheese sandwiches, toast, french toast and cheese bread. very glad we discovered this and is always easily available on amazon.com

Good alternative to wheat breads!
Not a bad choice for a multiple-use bread. Nice texture. For those with wheat allergies, most of their line of breads are pretty good. I especially like the ones with more fiber, as this one has.
